Nachdem erste Pläne von 1922 nicht verwirklicht wurden, legte man 1923 ein größeres Projekt vor, das noch im gleichen Jahr durch die Firma Westhoff und Söhne einschließlich einer Einfriedung verwirklicht wurde. Mit Wirkung vom Oktober 2003 wurde das Gebäude in die [[Denkmalliste]] eingetragen.<br /> <br /> == Baudenkmaleintrag ==<br /> Das Haus ist bedeutend für die Menschen in Hamm und die Entwicklung der dortigen Arbeits- und Produktionsverhältnisse. Für die Erhaltung und Nutzung liegen wissenschaftliche und städtebauliche Gründe vor. Das Gebäude ist Teil der repräsentativen Bebauung, die ab 1914 entlang der neu geschaffenen [[Ringanlage]] errichtet wurde. Bauherren waren in der Regel Mitglieder<br /> der führenden Schichten der Stadt Hamm, als Architekten wurden besondere Kräfte aus Hamm oder benachbarten Städten hinzugezogen. Die einzelnen Gebäude sind durchweg nicht mehr in Formen des Historismus errichtet und sollten der Stadt ein<br /> zeitgenössisches Gepräge verleihen. Aufgrund der weiteren Entwicklung (Unterbrechung durch den Ersten Weltkrieg, Zerstörungen im Zweiten Weltkrieg) ist das Planungskonzept heute jedoch nur noch an wenigen Stellen zu verfolgen.
