Es ist seit 1991 als [[Denkmalliste|Baudenkmal]] eingetragen.<br /> <br /> == Baubeschreibung ==<br /> Das fünf Gefache lange Haus wurde mit durchgehender Schwelle und durchgehendem Rähm gezimmert und gleichzeitig unter ein Dach gebracht. Zwischen dem zwei Gefache langen Gebäudeteil &#039;&#039;Alte Soester Straße 24&#039;&#039; und dem drei Gefache langen Gebäudeteil &#039;&#039;Marker Kirchplatz 8&#039;&#039; gibt es keine Brandwand. Im Dach gibt eine Verbretterung die Trennung an. Das Gebäude wird vermutlich seit der Bauzeit in der ersten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts von zwei Familien bewohnt, wie es die Parzellenteilung anzeigt. Im späteren 19. Jahrhundert, aber vor 1872, erhielten beide Gebäudeteile einen querstehenden Fachwerkanbau.<br /> <br /> == Baudenkmaleintrag ==<br /> Der Denkmalwert des Hauses &#039;&#039;Marker Kirchplatz 8 / Alte Soester Straße 24&#039;&#039; begründet sich vorwiegend durch zwei Faktoren. Zum einen handelt sich um ein weitgehend ungestörtes Fachwerkhaus des 19. Jahrhunderts, das aus hauskundlichen Gründen erhaltenswert ist. Es dokumentiert die Fachwerkbauweise und Wohnverhältnisse seiner <br /> Zeit bis hin zu dem Bedürfnis nach mehr Wohnraum, wie es im späteren 19. Jahrhundert allenthalben festzustellen ist. Darüber hinaus steht das Gebäude in städtebaulich akzentuierter Lage am Kirchring der mittelalterlichen [[Pfarrkirche St. Pankratius (Mark)|Kirche St. Pankratius]]. Mittelalterliche Kirchenringbebauungen sind durch ihre kleinparzellige Struktur gekennzeichnet. Es handelte sich dabei meist um Handwerkeransiedlungen, aber auch um Speichergebäude. Eine solche Struktur hat sich auch um die Marker Kirche erhalten. Die o. g. Gebäude sind traditionelle Fachwerkhäuser. Sie sind von städtebaulicher Bedeutung in ihrer Maßstäblichkeit zur Kirche und Randbebauung. Das Gebäude &#039;&#039;Marker Kirchplatz 8 / Alte Soester Straße 24&#039;&#039; steht an einem der Zugänge zum Kirchring und fällt dadurch optisch besonders ins Gewicht. An dieser Stelle stand noch 1828 das Pastorat.<br /> <br /> Das Haus &#039;&#039;Marker Kirchplatz 8 / Alte Soester Straße 24&#039;&#039; ist bedeutend für die Stadt Hamm, besonders für den Stadtteil Mark. Für die Erhaltung und Nutzung sprechen hauskundliche und städtebauliche Gründe.
