Mit Wirkung vom November 2012 wurde das Ehrenmal in die [[Denkmalliste der Stadt Hamm]] eingetragen.<br /> <br /> Das Ehrenmal betritt man im Süden durch ein zweiflügeliges Eisengittertor, das durch zwei Sandsteinkugeln gerahmt wird, die dadurch den Zugang hervorheben. Eine kreisrunde, nicht sehr hohe und in Sandstein ausgeführte Mauer umschließt die Gedenkstätte. Im Zentrum steht eine hochgewachsene Eiche, die mit ihrer Krone die gesamte Gedenkstätte beschirmt.<br /> <br /> == Baudenkmaleintrag ==<br /> Das Kriegerdenkmal ist bedeutend für die Geschichte des Menschen, hier für die Menschen in Rhynern-Osttünnen, da es an die historischen Ereignisse erinnert, die nicht nur die großen Metropolen oder die Frontlinien erschüttert haben, sondern buchstäblich bis in die ländlichste Gegend einschneidende Auswirkungen hatten. Sie erinnern an die in den Kriegen gestorbenen Mitbürger von Osttünnen. Für die Erhaltung und Nutzung liegen wissenschaftliche, hier kunsthistorische Gründe vor, da die gesamte Anlage im Stil des Expressionismus entstanden ist. Damit ist sie stilistisch auf der Höhe der Zeit.
